Guía de movilidad para la COP25

Los participantes en la Cumbre del Clima recibirán una tarjeta que les permitirá utilizar el transporte público madrileño de manera gratuita durante los próximos 15 días. Se les entregará en el momento en el que recojan su documentación en el Recinto Ferial de Ifema.

Asegurar la movilidad de las más de 20.000 personas que vienen a Madrid para participar en la Conferencia de las Naciones Unidas sobre el Cambio Climático (COP25) es uno de los grandes retos a los que se enfrenta la organización. Por este motivo, desde que se anunció que Madrid acogería este evento, las diferentes administraciones públicas implicadas se pusieron a trabajar.

El resultado de estas conversaciones se tradujo en el acuerdo al que llegaron el Gobierno central, la Comunidad de Madrid y el Ayuntamiento de la capital para que los participantes en la COP25 puedan moverse sin problemas y de forma gratuita.

ABONO TURÍSTICO
El Consorcio Regional de Transportes ha facilitado a la organización 20.000 tarjetas de transporte precargadas, que serán adquiridas por el Ministerio y el Ayuntamiento con un descuento del 60%. El tipo de billete es el Abono Turístico de 5 días para la zona A, la que corresponde a la ciudad de Madrid, con dos recargas gratuitas por el mismo periodo, de tal forma que se podrá hacer uso del transporte público de manera gratuita por un plazo de hasta 15 días. Los participantes recibirán este abono en el momento de recoger su acreditación en los mostradores de Naciones Unidas en el Recinto Ferial de Ifema.

Esta tarjeta tiene carácter personal y permite efectuar un número ilimitado de desplazamientos en el conjunto de servicios de transporte regular de viajeros que operan en el interior de la zona elegida (Metro de Madrid, autobuses urbanos de la EMT, Línea 1 de Metro Ligero y Cercanías Renfe).

REFUERZO
Para hacer frente al incremento de desplazamientos que se prevén durante estos días, la Comunidad de Madrid reforzará el servicio habitual de Metro, sobre todo el de la Línea 8, que conecta el centro de la ciudad con el Recinto Ferial de la COP25 y con el aeropuerto de Madrid Barajas.

Ensuring the mobility of over 20,000 people who are coming to Madrid to participate in the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP25) is one of the biggest challenges facing the organization. For this reason, since it was announced that Madrid would host this event, the various public administrations involved have got to work.

This resulted in an agreement reached between the Central Government, the Community of Madrid, and the capital's council, so that participants in the COP25 could travel free of charge and without any issues.

The Regional Transport Consortium has provided the organisation with 20,000 prepaid transport passes, which will be purchased by the Ministry and the Council with a 60% discount.

The ticket in question is the 5-day Tourist Travel Pass for zone A, which corresponds to the city of Madrid. It will also include two free top-ups in the same period in order to be able to make use of free public transport for up to 15 days. Participants will receive this pass when picking up their accreditation at the United Nations counters in the Ifema exhibition centre.

This pass is non-transferable and allows an unlimited number of journeys to be made on the network of regular passenger transport services operating inside the indicated zone (Madrid metro, EMT city buses, Light Metro Line 1 and Renfe Local Trains).

EXTRA SERVICES
In order to cope with the increased number of journeys expected during this time, the Community of Madrid will increase normal metro services, particularly on Line 8, which connects the city centre with the exhibition centre where the COP25 is being held, and with Madrid Barajas Airport.
